Seriously though, where are you placing in class and are there "slower" cars beating you? I wouldn't want to be in the fast group until I'm doing well in my own class.

Then there is the gearbox, I think sequential is a must, I am guessing .3 - .5 of a second per shift saved. I'm sure rich will confirm the sort of figures he managed to save. But then I need another few K.

Sequential is worth a 1 second a mile.

Buy a Sadev and put a flat shift on the car. They do Caterham style ones with a short (in height) gear lever.

Edit - just seen you are on a C20XE.

    Loads of tuning options.

You can buy a pretty nice engine for that with big power, but you will need 10 grand or so.

He's 191 wheels. Imho a 10k engine is bottom of the priority list.

Class wise, Thruxton I came 1st in class, however only 2 cars in class. Donny 3rd in class 4 entrants. See what Cadwell brings. If I can get roughly 4 seconds a lap quicker from the last 2 races I will be significantly higher without battling for the podium. So with Rich's comment re box that will mean I need to make up a further 2+ seconds from not driving like a wimp. I am hoping once car is set up correctly that will make a difference, also need to fit a fuel sender to my new (larger) tank as I know I was carrying around 3 surplus gallons of fuel. However with it being a foam filled tank and using an AIM dash I need the ATL voltage sender that costs 185. Yet more money but one will be on order from Demon tweeks in next few days.
Just watched the Thruxton Race on Motors TV tonight, got a few seconds of footage of me, commentator even mentions my name at one point, fame at last. However when they put the finishing list up they spell my name wrong MorLey.

Best money spent will be on some Professional Tuition IMO
I've not met him but I like his posts. He's like a better more advanced version of Ziplobb

Tuition with the right person is invaluable.

That's a pretty pokey engine anyway, although I realise you are outgunned by front runners.

The other guys in your class. What motors/power?

Some serious weaponry there. Looking at quali, the front 2 are in a different league. Then from 5th to 6th there is a big gap. 3 seconds get's you 8th, 2 seconds get's you right in the mix.

The only car that stands out is the 1600 supersport quali in x.19.3 But he raced in a different race.

You have probably got more p2w than the r300 caterhams, fastest being a 16.7 (3.2 seconds on you). Beating them should be the target.
