Cheers Dan, it looks like it will be televised as well, so I hopefully won't embarrass myself too much.

Qualified 29th, finished 21st overall 1st in class. Great weekend. Have seen that 2 cars are going to get a penalty for not obeying pit stop rules so could end up 19th.

I would love to give videos but sent my video4 off to race technology as it was being a little temperamental. Came back on Thursday afternoon, so didn't get chance to test it until Friday. Guess what, worse than when it went off to get repaired. Called them today and they are replacing the unit. So no data logging or images I'm afraid. However a friend was there watching and taking pics, I have seen a couple and he is going to send me more once he has edited out the chaff. Shauna & my dad came up as pit crew, but couldn't take photos from pit wall.

Here is an attempt at an artistic, moody one of me just about to go out.

Tell me about it, so glad I made it without incident. Pleased that I was getting quicker, my fastest lap in the race was actually about 2 seconds quicker than my fastest quail lap.

Surprised at how un nervous I was , however the sense of joy when I crossed the line was outstanding. It was just sooo hot, glad we had the compulsory 60 second pit stop to take on more fluids. Considering it was our first ever pit stop, we were only in the pit lane for about 3 seconds longer than the quickest pit stop about 1min 21 from memory. Unbelievable how much you have to concentrate at thruxton to exit the last bend and instantly reduce to pit lane speed limit of 60kph in about 20 metres. Especially as it is blind until you enter it. Roll on Donny in 3 weeks.

    Fantastic.

I'm not sure if you're doing it but a "total costs of racing" spread sheet would be great to see.

I would love to, but in all honesty it would probably scare me. Direct costs for the thruxton weekend were probably upwards of 750 however in that I have allowed for 50% wear on a new set of tyres as thruxton was quite heavy use. Also did a practice session as well as quali and race. Obviously there are other wear and tear cost etc but can't really set a figure for this race.
My plan was for around 500 for a 'typical' race day.
If you ever want to come to an event dan just shout.
