The day was perfect. It wasn't very busy at all and the only issue I had with track etiquette was another M3 that didn't want to move over, but there's plenty of straights to deal with people like that if you get a decent exit.

The only thing I'd do differently next time is to do a two-dayer.

I went and I decided against doing any TF laps.

It's simply too risky, not just for your car but pretty much everything you have or ever will have. You drop some fluids and wipe out a few cars behind you with some damage and injury claims, you're fucked.

The guys that ran the Spa day also do Destination Nurburgring - it's not cheap at 550-600 a day, but it's got to be a bucket list track to do at least once! A track day means no third party claims and a much easier time insuring your car.

Agree. Too many idiots at the ring. Spa is a thinking mans circuit.

When I did the ring I couldn't believe how some of the locals there were driving in terms of assuming you had seen them, and I was in a marked hire car!
    Rollin' for the bitchaz.

Even the very best drivers get caught out by the idiots.

A quick in-car vid from the Go-pro, will post the dashcam view later.

It must be so ridiculously good if you have the balls/skill/car to take it flat.

I reckon it's the corner I struggled with most - I kept turning in too early. I managed something close to what I wanted to achieve a couple of times, and I reckon that's where most of the the extra second in my "virtual best" time came from - getting it right has such a huge impact on your run up Kemmel.

My 2:55 lap (lap starts around 1:38):

I was taking it easy on Blanchimont, too - I had a few occasions where I had to use the run off, so decided to cool it down there later on in the day.

Loads of room for improvement, I reckon!
