One looks like an RC nerd. The other looks bad ass while he's doing radical stuff.
Mine can follow, track, lead etc. - not that I'm sure I'd be totally comfortable with that anywhere other than somewhere completely open. I do think half the fun is actually learning how to fly it well.
Everyone seems really interested in it, though. Every time I've taken it out, I've had several people approach me wanting to talk about it or have a look.
I do fear for the future though. They are going to become heavily regulated. That article on facebook I posted to you. The fines being given out etc. People will become anti.

That's easy, you just fly higher than 52m around people, or higher if you're around buildings.
